About the Workshop

This live online workshop is a beginner-friendly introduction to making a one-piece flat silicone mould.

I’ll take you through the full process using a simple flat master: how to choose a suitable design, build a secure mould box, prepare and measure silicone, mix and pour it carefully, and demould the finished piece. You will also learn what makes a master suitable for a flat mould, why undercuts matter, and the common mistakes that can cause problems before you start.

This session is ideal for makers who want to create moulds for plaster, Jesmonite, clay, wax or similar casting projects, but have not made silicone moulds before.

We’ll cover

  • Choosing a suitable master with a flat back and no undercuts

  • Tin-cure and platinum-cure silicone: the practical differences
